History

In March of 1991, Pastor R. Kent Smith and family held service with twelve other persons in attendance. The small congregation did not hinder the vision Pastor Smith had for Conroe.

Immediately, Pastor began searching for a visible location to hold services. A strip center facility was leased on I-45 North. In 1992 the congregation began to outgrow this leased facility. In July 1993, property was purchased on Oddfellow Street in Conroe, Texas. The 1612 Oddfellow building was completely renovated. The congregation began holding services in this building in November 1993. This growing congregation needed additional sanctuary space and completed a major renovation project in the summer of 2002.

Ministries of Conroe UPC continue to grow and prosper. Conroe United Pentecostal Church is a full family ministry, ministering to the needs of every age group and ethnic group.

The enthusiasm and vision of Pastor Smith has been transferred to each of the ministry leaders of Conroe United Pentecostal Church.
